Looking for people to take part in BBC3 We're Having a Baby

We’re looking for people aged 16 - 25, who are about to embark on one of the most remarkable journeys of their lives – having a baby. I thought some of your followers might be interested in taking part. Or perhaps you know someone who is?

The documentary will be uniquely asking everyone to film THEMSELVES on their phones, web cams, flip cams, capturing the highs and lows along the way.

This is their story, in their own words.

Whether it’s a first baby or not, this is a unique opportunity to show how having a child can be scary, hard work, as well as joyous and rewarding.

All correspondence will be dealt with in complete confidence and by contacting us you are not making a commitment to take part in the final programme.

TV company looking for parents to talk about family life

We’re making a landmark series for Channel 4 about what life is really like for British families in this iconic year. While the attention of the world is on the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics this summer, most of us will be trying harder and harder to get by. Against this backdrop we’re hoping to tell the stories of inspiring, warm and engaging families - from all areas and backgrounds across the UK, living through these tough economic times.

We’d like to reflect the range of issues faced by families in 2012 – from redundancy, money worries and the need to find a new job, to fears about running a business and paying the rent or mortgage. We also hope to talk to people on benefit, to really understand the struggles they face. And to explore the pressures parents deal with - supporting their children, from new babies arriving home to school leavers and graduates, often struggling to find work. We’d like to talk to families about different relationship stresses too, perhaps how they cope with divorce, or find out what happens when the in-laws have to move in. Ultimately, we want this to be a definitive series looking at British family life, celebrating their resourcefulness, strength and even humour as they take on the challenges of this year.

We’re currently researching the series and I wondering if you might be interested in what we’re doing. We’re keen to spread the word and speak to as many different families structures as possible. It would be great to speak to parents of twins. Any conversations will be informal and confidential and do not commit people to taking part. Just so you know we know that these issues are often very sensitive for people and we are very experienced at working sensitively and collaboratively with people going through challenging times of their lives and take our duty of care very seriously.

ITV1 Tonight Programme looking for families

We are looking to put together a programme about the Working Tax Credit Cuts for ‘Tonight’ on ITV1 where families working less than 24 hours a week will not get them cut.

It would be great if you could pass my details to any families who choose to go to work for all the right reasons but who would actually be better off on benefits from April 2012 – perhaps they pay for child care for their kids which is hugely expensive, they’d get their rent paid and other assorted benefits. Families who work because it’s the right thing to do and they want to set a good example to their children but who would be as well off if they didn’t work.

Pregnancy & birth magazine looking for first-time mums

I’m a freelance journalist with Pregnancy & birth magazine and am working on an article called Pregnant Against the Odds. I’m looking for first-time mums-to-be who are pregnant after fertility treatment, and wondered whether any of your members might be willing to be involved.

Our chosen case studies will be first-time mums aged 24-35 who are visibly pregnant (so ideally 20 weeks +). We’d like to invite them to a photoshoot in London on 30 Nov, expenses paid for themselves and a partner, and will also interview them about their road to pregnancy. They will get a CD of photos from the shoot and the opportunity to read the copy before going to press.
