With half term fast approaching most of us are still struggling to think of ways to keep the kids occupied that doesn’t involve them sitting in the house and playing computer games.

Instead for many of us the ideal way to spend the time off is to get out and about as a family, and for some a last minute holiday abroad would be the ultimate in getting away from it all and relaxing.

However, here in the UK we are very lucky to have some wonderful cities and attractions right on our doorstep, if an overseas getaway is stretching the bank that little bit too much then here are some great places to visit right here in Britain that could be a more affordable option and just as fun.
