Let me talk about dish washer powder. It is expensive stuff at £6 for a massive bottle plus the cost of the salt and the drying agent stuff but it does last a long time. Two or three months I ago I would think we last bought a large bottle of powder and it has just run out (infact it we still have one or two days left) and so it has worked out a great deal cheaper than tablets which were costing us around £5 a week.

Last week we had no meal planning as such as we were on holiday. Sure, we had to eat while on holiday but one of the things of a holiday is not planning and just chilling. Eat when you are hungry and eat what you want using a completly different budget (the massive holiday budget in this case instead of the limited weekly food budget), spending way too much money on expensive food. A holiday would not be a holiday if you had to live by your everyday rules.
It will be nice to be back to normal a bit, once again last week we had visitors for a couple of days which meant a nice yummy takeaway one night. This week has been another expensive week with a new bottle of washing powder, a large bag of mince and many smaller cooking items, helping to put the price up. It seems all this month we have not had the pattern of "expensive week", "cheap week" like we did last month. Large items have run out one ....
For this Square Foot Gardening I am keep plans up-to-date on a spreadsheet, something I may share at some time. The idea being is that Square Foot Gardening is intensive growing, using space as soon as it is available to your best advantage.
