The joy of sleepover

I love sleepover. Once in a while, usually during the holidays, the girls invited their best friends who are also twins to sleep over. We have been doing that since they were ever so little. I think they may have been 5 years old the first time, maybe even younger. They have known each others since before they were born. They absolutely adore each other. They only need a look to communicate. Having the four girls together is a sure recipe for laughter and happiness. I am not saying that they will not growl from time to time but in the main it is always a pleasure.

I try to organise a different activity for my husband as he find very difficult copy nad sleeping when we have giggling girls. Unfortunately this time he did not fancy going to the cinema or going up north to his parents. What a pity!

The guests came early afternoon and we all went to choose a couple of teenage suitable movies. They chose, I paid. We also stocked up on treats eg popcorn, sweets, water, chocolate.

Then they went to spend some energy outdoors. At that point they were making the little one cry. Child 3 did not invite anybody and was feeling left out. Also child 2 was being her usual self when she has guest and was treating him like dirt. I nipped that quickly and they all went to play out happily. Rollerblades, scooters, chalk and balls and 6 happy children. One extra joined in for fun.

Then tea. And then the fun started. Child 3 was watching something silly with daddy. All the girls started on their movies and snacks. House rule number 2 went out of the window. I told them to take the food and drinks upstairs.

Suddenly it was time to put child 3 in bed. He was tired so all was well.

Then my bedtime came. I am a 10pm bedtime girl. I get so grumpy after 9.30pm that I retire to my private quarter. Lol

My husband woke me up to ask how I could fall asleep with the girls giggling. I told him that if I can fall asleep with his snoring a giggle or 2 is nothing.

I could hear that they were having fun, I was happy and very sleepy.

It is morning now. I was up first as usual, child 3 followed very quickly. Husband is still in bed sleeping as apparently he was up all night. The girls are still asleep. I will be amazed if they get up before 10am.

Good time. I love sleepover. The next one will be at my friend’s house. She likes them as well.
