My daughter is 11 this year and this will be her 8th RACE for Life. Since the age of 3 she has come with me to do the RACE for Life events with friends in Nottingham and Derby.

I have lost 4 Grandparents to cancer, 3 of which were alive when Laura was born. At the age of 3 I explained that we were doing it to raise money so other little girls and boys didn't have to miss their grandparents as my Nan and Grandad had both died just before the RACE date. As Laura has got older she has learnt more and more. As the first advert is out Laura urges me to book our places.

Each year it is an emotional experience, this year more so for us as we are doing the event in Bradford with family, where 2 of my Grandparents lived.
