On July 16th 2009, my identical twin boys were bought into the world by Caesarian section at 37 weeks. This was my first experience of pregnancy and it amazes people when they say "well you've got an instant family now. You won't want any more will you?" and I reply "YES!!!"

It really amuses me that people presume that having twins means you'll be put off of having more, but for me it has only encouraged me to have another baby (or two... or three). The joy they have brought into mine and my fiance's lives is unbelievable. I feel truly blessed.

One member or my family who has been most impacted by their arrival is my mum. She is 52 years old and the week after David and James arrived, she was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease. This is a very young age to receive this diagnosis and it completely shocked my mum. She is a very caring person and always puts other first so she finds it very difficult to come to terms with people putting her first. She is now suffering from depression and the one thing that guarantees to put a smile on her face is the time she spends with her Grandsons. She is completely smitten and is always saying how blessed she feels which is a hard thing to say with Parkinsons hanging over your head. So to anyone who thinks twins is all hard work and no joy... you could not be more wrong. I am so lucky :o) x x x
