Ten years ago Twinsclub was conceived by Tony Jones (Dad to twin girls) and Lindsey Gray (Mum to twin boys).  There was very little online help and information for parents of twins and triplets and it was Twinsclub's vision to produce a website which would bring together parents of multiples in an online community.

After an initial launch in 2000, the site grew very quickly and it was revamped soon after to allow for growth. It has since gone from strength to strength and now receives over 250,000 hits per week from not just the UK, but from all over the world.

As the first dedicated website to parenting twins, triplets and more we wanted to put people in touch with one another, so that they could share their experiences, offer support and advice and generally help each other out. We also wanted to link up all the UK twins clubs to pool their newsletter info, swap funnies etc.

Twinsclub provides a friendly site where anyone with multiples can feel at home, find information and a listening ear on our forums. Somewhere you feel comfortable and reassured if you've just discovered your having twins, triplets or more.

We are totally independent of any other sites. We hope to make the future easier for others with twins or more.

In 2009 Tony's other commitments sadly meant that he could no longer continue with Twinsclub,   New help was brought on board and the site was revamped and relaunched in March 2009.  The aim to further our involvement with regional twinsclubs around the UK, to bring forward the everyday life of parents with twins and multiples, and to be a community place for all us parents of twins and multiples.

Our website started in 2000 with the aim to bring together twinsclubs around the country and to be a place for parents of multiples run by parents of multiples.   The idea of Twinsclub has always stayed the same, we continue to be a pace for parents of multiples, and we continue to be run by parents of mulitples.

In 2002 the increase of SPAM email hit Twinsclub with emails reported to be from us going around the world.   This led to a quick announcement on the homepage to make it clear these emails were not anything to do with Twinsclub.   On a brighter note we allowed visitors to enter our competition to win tickets to Alton Towers.   Our website by now had expanded, we had book reviews, chatroom and a small forum.

The forums have always been an important part of Twinsclub.  In 2000 it started as the "Twins Matters" forum, one board for all your twin and multiples topics.  Early topics on this single board included "Twin hospital cots", "Schools - Separate or Not?", "Increasing milk supply", "How do I know my twins are identical", "Buggies for twins and a toddler too", "Mirror image twins", "Anyone go to term with twins".   Ten years later, times are very much different but the questions and topics on our busy forums follow the same theme and indeed same questions.

We have always tried to improve our site for our visitors.  Back in 2003 we promised that soon we would allow graphical smilies and username change on the forums.   We do now have a selection of static and animated smilies on our forums but the ability to change your username never came about.

Twinsclub has never had any political agenda but we have always worked with fellow parents of multiples for what we thought was fair for us all.  Back in 2003 we discussed the Child Tax Credit unfairness, an issue still present and still being fought by the twins body Tamba with support from the majority of parents of multiples like us.

For a number of years Twinsclub organised and published their own calender in order to donate money to various charities.

In 2009 we started a revamp of our website and the services we provide and in 2010 on our tenth birthday we continue our changes and improvements and look foward to another 10 years.   Life has changed a great deal during this time, online forums and communities are everyday life.  Every one is in a Facebook world, they Twitter their smallest events, their friends are online and chatting.  Twinsclub has been here for parents of twins and multiples for the fun times, the sad times, hard and impossible times.  Our community has bonded a number of life long friendships across not only the country but the world.
